C IO2020!
I’m excited to welcome you back for our latest edition of
North Highland’s magazine ‘CIO2020’, written especially
for CIOs. For many years, North Highland has prided itself
on helping CIOs unleash their potential, and we continue to
work with some of the top CIOs across the globe to do this.
For those of you I haven’t met, my name is Ben Grinnell and I am the Global CIO &
Technology Services Lead for North Highland. I have spent the last 20 years helping
CIOs build capability in their functions and improve their relationship with the
business to ensure IT divisions can facilitate the business vision. This publication is
compiled with articles from subject matter experts across the North Highland offices.
Our aim within this magazine is to bring you our latest thinking in this space and
spark a dialogue within the digital community.
Some highlights in this issue are we:
- make sense of data through visual analytics and let you into the secrets of
improving your business performance by 5% - all through the simple use of
workforce analytics.
- dive into how transformations – both technology and organisational can drive
change and enable the adoption of new ways of working that is changing the face
of major companies.
- give you a glimpse of how organisatons should explore kicking off their own start-
up by embedding a profitable product proposition into the business, both to create
new revenue streams and also to boost passion and creativity. We use the example
of Culr, a performance improvement and feedback app that we are developing
internally and we are really excited about.
- look at the issues our client are having with the scope and variety of
interpretations of a ‘digital strategy’ and outline an approach we’ve used to
manage the debate.
- review the state of IT outsourcing and how to cost effectively break the cycle so
many of our clients get stuck in.
The articles in this magazine have been chosen as they have
struck a chord with recent conversations with Technology
leaders at many of our clients, and we hope they will provide
you some food for thought as well!
So please do grab a coffee and have a read of CIO2020.
