DIGITAL UP MAGAZINE LIGHT
With Kelvin unit of measurement as a basic reference it is very e in relation to the objects and the
camera. Because the direction of light strongly influences our perception of form, structure and texture of illuminated objects, it is one of the most important tools of expression for visual artists, and will dedicate more space to it. Given that we are limited to visual experience while looking at the picture, without any tactile information, our brain connects the softness of the shadows that an object casts to the softness or hardness of the object itself and of the material from which the object is made. The size of light source directly affects the sharpness and softness of shadows that the illuminated object casts the bigger light sources produce softer shadows, while smaller light sources produce sharper
shadows. For those reasons, we use different sized light sources to connote the hardness or softness of the material and use this information to influence the emotional response of the observer.
