DIGITAL UP MAGAZINE LIGHT
Refraction
In the sense of avant-garde and abstract expressionism, Michael Taylor investigated the refraction of light through glass. All photographs are the result of the refraction directly to the photographic silver gelatine paper, without the usual chemical process such as developing, because the sunlight activates silver halides in the paper and creates the image. Images were than fixed and scanned, revealing further detail and subtle colour. Resulting images are left as negatives resembling x-rays, which makes interaction between art and science – Michael’s modus vivendi. →
