For more than 50 years James Turrell, an American artist, has been working with light and space,
pushing the limits of human perception. Turrell’s art is all about making the statement of diversity in immaterial medium, transforming the light itself into art. “He wants his work not just to be about light, but to be light,” as Lucina Ward, curator of the National Gallery of Australia, stated.
James Turrell is probably best known for his work-in-progress, Roden Crater. He actually purchased the volcano crater back in the 1970’s, and began transforming it into his studio/exhibition venue, which opened in 2012. Here he combines his multidisciplinary background in science and art. He was
