Q: What fascinated me first in your art was the
connection of mythical signs and pop culture,
as well as the old with the new technology. How
did you come to such an artistic idea? Tell us
something about it and how that happened.
I studied at several art schools and so I’ve studied
art history. I find it interesting to put different eras
together and then add another dimension to this
mix of genres.
Q: Your art is surreal. What is in the head of
Nicolas, really? Is your daily life closely linked
with your creativity?
First and foremost, I’m an Art Director in an
advertising agency, and you rarely have the
opportunity to put forward something surreal in
advertising, so it allows me to get away, to be free
from constraints.
Q: You were doing a lot portraits of famous
personalities. In what way do you choose
who you are going to paint? Is it an instant
inspiration or actual people from the
subcultural scene? What is the impulse for this
creative achievement? →
