Bill uses photos from the first half of the 20th century to bring them into a new life by animating them with unusual flying objects, swinging ornaments and similar. The artist said he found the inspiration for his latest work in a pigeon illustration from the 1906. book, A Text-Book of Human Physiology which followed the destruction of the semicircular canals of the pigeon. The illustration was showing the peculiar pendulumlike movement of the head. In his work, Bill combined the animated red ornament which mimics that pendulum-like movement, so he created an interesting contrast to modern holiday culture. [ 96 ] DigitalUP
