Midway through the Chapter, Sr. Faustina heard Jesus say, “I desire that all of you would have more faith at the present time. How great is My joy at the faithfulness of My spouse in the smallest things.” Then as she gazed at the Crucifix, she saw the head of Jesus “turn towards the refectory with His lips moving.” When she told Mother Superior about it, she replied, “You see, Sister, how Jesus demands that our life be a life of faith” (Diary, # 352). (31.3) “Who can Understand My Suffering Better than My Spouse?” (Diary, # 348) Sr. Faustina wrote in her Diary that on the first Thursday after Christmas (December 27, 1934), she totally forgot that it was Thurs day and should have gone to Adoration. Instead, at nine o’clock, she went straight to the dormitory with the other Sisters. Surprisingly, she could not fall asleep. It seemed to her that she was missing something. But, even after spending an hour, re- checking all of her commitments, she could not remember anything.
