(2.4) In Jesus, God Pardons the “Divine Way” (Diary, # 1745-1747) (Diary, # 1747): As shown in history, God pardons man the “divine way” or the merciful way, in Jesus, in His “infinite goodness…and compassion on (man’s) misery.” (Diary, # 1745): In due time, God made ready a “tabernacle” for Himself, the Blessed Virgin Mary. Her “pure heart opened with love for the coming of the Word,” and her “Immaculate Womb” became the Incarnate Word’s abode, “the inconceivable miracle of His Mercy” for all time. It is but fitting that God’s “children by grace” give due praise to the “King of Mercy” (Diary, # 367) and to unite themselves with His Immaculate Mother, as well. For she is the one who pleases God perfectly; and in union with her, His “children by grace” become more pleasing to Him, as well. (Diary, # 1746): Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God and the Redeemer of man, purposefully “abased Himself” from the time of His Incarnation, all through His “terrible Passion” and Crucifixion. 99 His condescension did not seek to be united with a superiorly gifted Seraph; but instead, with man. For it was the flawed and sinful man, but not the angels, who truly needed the compassion of the God of Mercy, the Father of humanity. And, Mary, “that Snow- White Lily” became the first to worship the power of God’s mercy. (Diary, # 1745): But not only does Jesus Christ remit man’s sin and guilt, He also shares with him, His triumph over the mire of sin, suffering, and death; as well as deliverance from the certain an d the eternal suffering of being separated from God forever. 100 He also grants man, a share in the glory of His Divinity as His “child by grace;” gives him the undeserved gifts of salvation and eternal happiness with Him in Heaven; and can now call God, his “Father” too. 99 Ibid., Pope John Paul II, Salvifici Doloris, I-3.
