During the procession on the Feast of the Corpus Christi, which Sr. Faustina attended on June 20, 1935, as the Priest exposed the Blessed Sacrament, she saw in a vision that the rays from the exposed Divine Mercy Image at the altar, “pierced the Sacred Host and spread out all over the world” (Diary, # 441). She then heard Jesus tell her, “These rays of mercy will pass through you, just as they have passed through this Host, and they will go out through all the world” (Diary, # 441). On the great blessings of venerating the Divine Mercy Image, especially on the Feast of Mercy, Jesus told Sr. Faustina: I am the King of mercy. I desire that this Image be displayed in public on the first Sunday after Easter…Through the Word Incarnate, I make known the bottomless depth of My mercy (Diary, # 88)… Already there are many souls who have been drawn to My love by this Image. My mercy acts in souls through this work (Diary, # 1379)… By means of this Image, I shall be granting many graces to souls; so let every soul have access to it (Diary, # 570, 742)...
