hand and graciously permits her to take her place beside Him. He reassures her,
saying, See, I have left My heavenly throne to become united with you. What you
see is just a tiny part and already your soul swoons with love. How amazed will
your heart be when you see Me in all My glory? (Diary, # 1810).
(3.13) “Eternal Communing with God Begins on Earth through Holy Communion” 309
Jesus taught Sr. Faustina that Holy Communion starts to nurture while still on earth, the
soul’s eternal intimacy or “communing” with God. She wrote in her Diary:
I want to tell you that eternal life must begin already here on earth through Holy
Communion. Each Holy Communion makes you more capable of communing with
God throughout eternity. And so, my King, I do not ask You for anything
although I know that. You can give me everything. I ask You for one thing only,
Remain forever the King of my heart; that is enough for me (Diary, # 1811).
III C.4 On the “Worship of the Eucharist:” A Part of the Eucharistic Devotion 310
The Catholic Church has always offered and still offers to the Sacrament of the
Eucharist, the cult of adoration, not only during Mass, but also outside of it,
reserving the consecrated Hosts with the utmost care, exposing them to solemn
veneration of the faithful (CCC, 1378)… As faith in the Real Presence of Christ
in His Eucharist deepened, the Church became conscious of the meaning of silent
adoration of the Lord, present under the Eucharistic species (CCC, 1379)…
Because Christ Himself is present in the Sacrament of the Altar, He is to be
honored with the worship of adoration. “To visit the Blessed Sacrament is…a
proof of gratitude, an expression of love, and a duty of adoration toward Christ
our Lord” (CCC, 1418; Pope Paul VI, Mysterium Fidei, 66).
(4.1) “Living Faith” in Jesus’ Real Presence Pleases Him and the Key for Graces 311
By faith, Christ’s Real Presence is veiled but real in the Blessed Sacrament (Diary, #
1420). 312 Jesus is pleased with the confession of “living faith” in Him; yet also deems it as the
key, so that He could “act upon a soul” (Diary, # 1420).
