can carry them out. Place yourself in the hands of the Most Holy Mother” (Diary,
# 1243).
Moreover, Sr. Faustina penned her Diary under holy obedience to her two Confessor-
Spiritual Directors (Fr. Michael Sopocko and Fr. Josef Andrasz, S.J.), as well as in accord with
her Congregation superiors, who validated the Lord’s revelations to her, over time. 263
The Church teaches that on matters of private revelations, these were not meant to add
something new and neither to revise, exceed, upgrade, or finish Revelation, as purported by
certain non-Christian cults, denominations, or religions. 264 On the other hand, it is “to confirm
truths already revealed,” which Christ definitively fulfilled, and then concluded with “the death
of (St. John) the last of the Apostles.” 265 These are true for public revelations, as well, until
Christ comes again, this time in glory, at His Second Coming (CCC, 66; cf. 1Tim 6:14) . lxxiii
The Scriptures also teach that private revelations are not exclusive to holy persons; for
the Lord revealed His will also to evil people such as to King Belshazzar, when “the fingers of a
human hand appeared, writing on the plaster of the wall in the king's palace” (Dan 5:5). lxxiv
Even if “no further Revelation” is admitted; with great care and discernment, the Church
has approved some private revelations, including Our Lady at Fatima and the Divine Mercy
message to St. Faustina. 266 These were meant not only to draw these special human instruments
closer to God, “for greater perfection still;” but, also to extend these graces to all peoples who
are receptive to it. 267 But even if the Church “authenticates” a private revelation, the Faithful are
“not bound to it as a firm belief;” although, in accord with the Church’s Magisterium and under
