But, shortly afterwards, she was roused to the power of trusting in the inexhaustible mercy of God. His never-ending goodness enables her to face death without fear. It is consoling to know that God is in control and that nothing happens without His express will or consent (Diary, # 697, 1262). Sr. Faustina also believed in glorifying God’s limitless mercy; in this life, at death, at the resurrection, and through all eternity (Diary, # 697). She also trusted in the Lord’s will for her, “God can deal with me as He pleases, and I will bless Him for everything” (Diary, # 1262). And, she resorted to prayer, “My Jesus, my strength, my peace, my repose; my soul bathes daily in the rays of Your mercy. There is not a moment in my life when I do not experience Your mercy, O God. I count on nothing in my whole life, but only on Your infinite mercy. It is the guiding thread of my life, O Lord. My soul is filled with God‟s mercy” (Diary, # 697).
