Sr. Faustina desired to console Jesus “continuously” by uniting herself with His bitter
chalice of suffering (Mt 26:39; Diary, # 385). lxiv For “suffering is the most harmonious melody
of all” that can be offered to the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus and for souls (Diary, # 385). She also
understood that she shared most efficaciously in Jesus’ bitter cup of redemptive suffering by
uniting with His prayer and memorial offering of Himself in the Church’s Liturgy or at every
Holy Mass (Diary, # 385).
