Show off your favorite cars!

In Package Special Set Display

This month you will learn how to make an easy display for those special sets still in the blister

How To

This month we are going to build a display for those still in the package sets that you want to show off. The display we will build in this tutorial will hold five premium Hot Wheels cars, but you can adjust the length to hold as many as you want. I like to use it to display sets, which are usually 5 to 8 cars, but sometimes up to 10 cars. We will be utilizing some materials that we have used before, namely the FRP Cap Moulding. We used this on a storage/display solution that we showed you back in our February issue. This cap moulding can be found at Home Depot. The rest of the materials can also be picked up at Home Depot while your there. You are going to need 7.25 inch common board (length can vary depending on how long you are going to make your display) and some small poplar boards. I chose .5" x 2.5" by 36" but you can adjust the thickness to your liking. For this project I also used some spray paint, an electric jig saw, some clamps, contact cement, and wood glue.
