Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Senior Citizens Foundation

Through the continuing generosity of its donors , the Foundation is able to contribute $ 175,000 per year to provide programs and services to older adults in Lake Forest and Lake Bluff . The population of those 65 and older in Lake Forest and Lake Bluff was just over 4,200 in the 2010 Census and was the fastest growing segment of the population . About 40 % of the Foundation ’ s contribution supports the activities of the Dickinson Hall Senior Center and its members , and about 60 % of that contribution supports the needs of the broader senior community in Lake Forest and Lake Bluff by funding the Senior Advocate and related services ( 40 %) and a transportation program ( 20 %) for older adults .
The Foundation ’ s objective in funding these programs and services is to foster independence , involvement and continued personal growth of older adults in our community with particular emphasis on fostering independence .

Thank you to all our generous donors through March 23 , 2018 !
We want to express our sincere appreciation to all those who so generously contributed to the recent Annual Appeal . The donations received will help to ensure that the programs and services of Dickinson Hall can continue : programs such as the fitness and wellness classes , the many lectures , luncheons , movies , trips , and other programs and activities that encourage socialization and fellowship . Your dollars also help finance the cost of the Senior Advocate who is available five days a week to assist with a range of issues from living independently to helping family members find resources for aging parents . And finally , your donation helps fund the Transportation Program , which is vital to keeping those who no longer drive involved and connected to the community . Thank you so much !

There is a new addition to our beautiful garden ! Last year on March 14 , 2017 , Dickinson Hall bus driver Gene Lonergan passed away suddenly . We still remember him with great fondness . His sense of humor , his kindness and generosity will never be forgotten .
Take a few moments , if you will , during your day to visit Gene ’ s beautiful memorial bench located in the Dickinson Hall garden . Thank you again for the generous donations to make this lasting memorial to a wonderful person possible .
