“Lucky Lindy” - Charles Lindbergh was the most popular man in
America when he became the first man to fly solo across the
Atlantic. But that is just the first chapter of an extraordinary and
controversial life. A few years later he was thrust back into the
news when his infant son was the victim of an unspeakable crime.
The third act of Lindbergh’s life is the most unexpected, as he
became a pariah in the very land that lionized him! Happy Birthday, Chopin!

Friday, March 30 - Audrey Hepburn Happy Birthday, Bach, Vivaldi and Haydn!
Wednesday, March 28 10:30 am $8/$12 Non-Member
For about a decade, Audrey Hepburn was the epitome of grace
and style on the silver screen. We will explore her great films and
enduring allure. But we will also look at her fascinating life - from
serving as a courier for the Dutch Resistance to becoming the
tireless advocate of the world’s poorest children.
Friday, April 27 - John D. Rockefeller
Today we focus on the richest man of all time. How rich was John
D. Rockefeller? He was wealthier than Gates, Walton and Buffett
added together! So where did Rockefeller get his money? Oil, of
course - but that is only part of the story. And the rest of the story
of this fascinating man is a tale of cold-hearted business practice,
unparalleled personal generosity, and deep commitment to
religion.

The Trail of Tears
Wednesday, February 7 1:00 pm $5/$8 Non-Member
Presenter: Joyce Haworth
When Andrew Jackson was elected president in 1828, he was
determined to end the land claims of all of the remaining Indian
tribes east of the Mississippi River. The Cherokee stood against
him, suing for their land rights in the Supreme Court. The battle
that followed, and the eviction of the tribes to Oklahoma,
illustrates the weaknesses of the constitutional system, the power
of greed and the suffering of a people.
