The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario is the licensing and regulatory body governing the practice of medicine in Ontario . The College is responsible for setting and maintaining medical standards , licensing physicians , investigating complaints about physicians on behalf of the public , and disciplining doctors found to have committed act ( s ) of professional misconduct .

9 Accepting New Patients - Consultation The draft policy makes it explicit that introductory meetings such as ‘ meet-and-greet ’ appointments , or other tools such as medical questionnaires , must not be used to ‘ vet ’ prospective patients and determine whether to accept those patients into their practice .
19 Ending the Physician-Patient Relationship – Consultation The draft policy expands on the actions physicians are expected to take prior to ending the physician-patient relationship .
