New public members of Council
Mr. John Langs
The College is pleased to welcome Mr. John Langs, a public member,
to Council.
Mr. Langs, a Toronto lawyer, began working at Fraser & Beatty LLP
(now Dentons LLP) in 1969, becoming a Partner in 1976 and serving as
CEO of the firm from 1999 to 2005. Mr. Langs practised Corporate
commercial law with a focus on securities, mergers and acquisitions.
He retired from the firm in 2009.
Mr. Langs served as a member of the Board of North York General
Hospital Foundation from 1998 to 2008. He also served on the Board of
North York General Hospital for several years. He has served as a
member of the board of Central LHIN, and as its chair from 2011 to 2014.
Mr. Langs will sit on our Discipline Committee, among other duties.
Mr. David McDonald

The College is pleased to welcome Mr. David McDonald, a public
member, to Council.
Mr. McDonald, of Whitby, is very familiar with professionally-led regulation. Most recently, he was the Registrar/Chief Administrative Officer
at the College of Dental Technologists of Ontario (2008 to 2014).
He has also been the Deputy Registrar of the Ontario Association of
Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists and Executive
Director of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. He has also sat on
the Executive Committee of the Federation of Health Regulatory
Colleges of Ontario from 2010 to 2013.
Mr. McDonald will sit on our Inquiries, Complaints and Reports
Committee, among other duties.
