We have been working hard studying cross-sectional anatomy of the major organs of our body and applying this knowledge to develop and improve scanning techniques in our lab. We just completed our first full abdominal scans and are working continuously to improve the images for our future patients. Our team is looking forward to our clinical assignments that will begin in January. We feel ready, as we have all passed our “Ultrasound Bootcamp” and have built a foundation that will lead to quality patient care by allowing us to provide accurate ultrasound images. In addition, our Introduction to Sonography class has provided us with the required tools to become team players within the healthcare system. So as to help relieve the tremendous pressure of being a “stressed-out-ultrasound student”, we are having a little fun celebrating birthdays, enjoying a Halloween party with our seniors, and a baby shower for our very helpful physics instructor Heather. We have learned an awful lot this semester; not only about ultrasound, but about ourselves. Sincerely, Nadja Alfonso Jean-Denis Diagnostic Medical Sonography
