DM: You say acknowledge. accept. Why not because she has too in order to make it into heaven. Those were the worst words that I’ve ever heard and trust me, I’ve heard plenty. DM: Wow, your strength. One more question, can you tell us who she is? Donetha: You’re good but not that good. No I won’t tell you who she is because she doesn’t matter anymore. DM: And on that note, I’m going to end this interview. It’s been a pleasure spending time with you. I hope that we can do this again. Donetha: For sure. The conversation ended with smiles, laughter, dinner, a hug, and the celebration of the upcoming launch of -DetermineD Magazine. Since we couldn’t be friends, I just wanted her to acknowledge to me and only me that I’m hers. Nothing more and nothing less, honestly, I would have been content with just that. DM: Why? Donetha: Because she has a life. She has a husband and two beautiful children. Who am I to interject myself in that? DM: Yeah but you are blood of her blood. Donetha: Yeah but she deserves to be happy too and that happiness obviously didn’t include me. DM: But you deserve closure. So are you alright with it now, I mean, the fact that you two will never be able to have that friendship. Donetha: Girl yes. After all that I’ve dealt with, with her, shit, she might as well have been the mother that I grew up with. They both made it very clear that they couldn’t love me, so I did the best I could to love myself. Shit, she stood to my face and told me that the only reason that she loves me is DetermineD Magazine.
