Donetha: Yeah, they say they do and sometimes I’m tempted to believe them [laughs]. DM: You’re kidding right? Donetha: Yeah girl, I’m kidding. I love my staff. They are perfect in my eyes. They always make my day. I wouldn’t trade those guys and gals for nothing in the world. DM: That’s good to know. So Crossroad, is a little steamy, huh. Donetha: Yes. And that’s all I’m going to say about that. You will have to read it and then get back with me if you have any questions. DM: Deal. As a matter of fact, I’m ‘bout to purchase it right now. Donetha: No. You don’t have to do that. I’ll just give you an autographed copy at the end of this interview. DM: You’ll do that for me? Donetha: Hecky yeah girl, I just talked to you in depth about my entire life, it’s only right to give you a copy of my books as well. Shit, by the time you read them, you’ll probably feel as if we’d done this interview all over again. DM: Wow, thanks Lady D, I mean, Donetha the Great. Donetha: Hey, hey, you better stop that Donetha the Great stuff. I don’t like it. It sort of makes it seem that I’m more than what God planned me to be. I mean, in His eyes I’m perfect because this is how he made me but any other type of perfection is a slap in His face…and mine. 24 | P a g e DM: Got it. Well how about Lady D or boss lady. Donetha: Lady D is fine but boss lady, mmm, not so much. DM: Why not? What’s wrong with boss lady? Donetha: though. Nothing. It’s just beneath me DM: I don’t quite understand. Donetha: Look honey, I put the “B” in business and I also put the “B” in bitch. To me, the term boss lady is like a supervisor. Why should I settle for a management position when I own the whole damn company, you feel me? I’m the founder, the CEO, and the president. All approvals must go through me. Shit, I’m the board of directors too [laugh]. DM: Ah shit, my girl is running the damn thang and ain’t letting nothing stop her. You that bitch Lady, not “the” bitch but “that” bitch. Donetha: Now we’re talking. DM: [laughing] I’m having entirely too much fun here. Donetha: Then my job is done. DM: But I’m the one working. Donetha: Yes and I’m the one entertaining. DM: [laughing] Too much. You are too much. Donetha: I know, but I enjoy being able to let my hair down from time to time and just have fun.
