DM: So here I sit doing an interview with who I want to coin as “Donetha the Great” because of all of the things that you have been though and have dealt with and yet you have found a way to keep on going. A true inspiration, even if I must say so myself. Donetha: Wow, thank you for such kind words, but I can’t take any credit. I have to give it all to my personal Lord and Savior Jesus Christ because if it was left up to me, this story would have been over a long time ago, you feel me. God did this. I had nothing to do with it [chuckles], He did it, all of it and I praise Him for it. DM: I’m with you on that. So let’s start by talking about your poetry. I was reading one of your poems, the one titled Chaos, and believe it not, I was able to feel every word of it, even the chaos in it. What was your story behind writing that poem? Donetha: I actually wrote that poem about ten years before it was published and at that time in my life, all I knew was chaos. It seemed that everything around me was in a mess, you feel me. It was as if chaos was a piece of me, of who I was. It was where I was at in that time of my life and what life was like in my world growing up. The most beautiful part about this poem is that I wouldn’t change a thing about it because all that I’ve gone through has made me the strong person that I am today. DM: I can understand that.
