W
hen the time comes to plan their
next family vacation, a lot of Twin
Cities residents will be heading up
north to the cabin. According to the Minnesota
Department of Revenue, there are an estimated
135,000 non-commercial seasonal recreation
properties in the state.

In one of her Good Question segments on
WCCO TV last summer, reporter Heather Brown
discovered the majority of the cabins in the state
are in Cass County, which is home to Leech Lake;
Crow Wing County, where Brainerd, Cross Lake
and Breezy Point are; and Otter Tail County, which
is just South of Detroit Lakes.
