Anchored by Glenwood on the east and Starbuck on the west, there is no shortage of things to do on your summer vacation. The area features nine resorts, campgrounds, two 18-hole golf courses, community celebrations, bike and running trails and most importantly, fun at the lake. In May, lefse lovers gather for Starbuck’s Lefse Dagen, celebrat- GLENWOOD LAKES AREA Glenwood Lakes Area Lake Minnewaska ing the baking of the world’s largest lefse. July 4 features Heritage Days in Starbuck. The end of July, Glenwood puts on its huge Waterama celebration. August brings the Pope County Fair, also in Glenwood. The summer fun ends with Eple Tiden, celebrating the apple harvest in Starbuck. Barsness Park City of Glenwood Barsness Park, located near the northeastern shore of Lake Minnewaska, offers one of the most scenic spots in Pope County. The 300-acre park, located on the southern edge of the City of Glenwood has a campground with full hook-ups, electrical hook-ups, shower facilities and tent sites. Many sites offer a view of Lake Minnewaska. There are four miles of hiking trails within the park and 150 acres is a wildlife preserve.
