interesting courses of Spain.
Almeria » Playa Macenas
This new course at Playa Macenas Beach & Golf Resort was
opened for play in 2008 as part of a resort development by
Med Group. It is like a huge verdant garden and provides a great
challenge for all levels of golfers. Located close to the quiet
spanish village of Mojacar, it neighbours Marina Golf Mojacar
course. This course is unique in many ways, boasting large
man-made water hazards to challenge the golfer. Playa Macenas
provides stunning views of the sea and many indigenous species

Almeria » Valle del Este
“Spectacular” and “challenging” are two words use to describe
a round at Valle del Este Golf Resort. Designer Jose Canales, has
managed to create a golf-course that is already considered one
of the top new courses in Europe. With ample fairways, large
receptive greens and measuring only 6300 yards of the back-tees
and par 71, it should not be. Yet, somehow the course manages to
extract every bit of skill from even the most seasoned of golf-pro,
without ever becoming unfair for the beginning golfer. Desert
surroundings with the occasional view of the Mediterranean,
rolling hills and steep cliffs make it visually spectacular.
Maintained to the highest standards, together with the regions
famed climate, they make Valle del Este a golf-course that can be
played all year round, making it an unforgettable experience.
Almeria » Playa Serena
Opened in 1979 and running parallel to the Mediterranean Playa
Serena is mainly flat with small sloping greens, most of which are
protected by bunkers and water. A a dominant feature of this par
72 layout is the wind which effects around twelve holes. Winds
from the east and west together with the length of the course
and the unforgiving rough make the Angel Gallardo and Peter Allis
design a considerable challenge. Many players find their problems
begin at the 7th, a long hole with out-of-bounds close by on the
right and water on the left demanding both power and accuracy
off the tees.
