Golf Almerimar Cadiz » Rota The Rota Club de Golf initiative was started by a group of friends in 2006, who wanted to have a non-profit club to practise and enjoy the game they love. It’s a friendly club that runs small member and social events in accordance with the rules of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation. Located in Rota Naval Base, this unique golf course is one of the oldest and most authentic in Cadiz. Its 18 holes is known for having an abrupt terrain, with slow greens and firm fairways. Cadiz » Campano The nine holes of Campano are regarded as a fine test of golf by many who have graced the narrow, flat fairways, which wander through the private estate of San Andrés. There is little rough but an abundance of pine and olive trees provide shade and natural hazard. The other being the Levante wind. The long 2nd hole demands accuracy in the face of this difficulty as one must cross a stream and negotiate a right - hand dogleg. The club also has an excellent driving range. Almeria » Almerimar This unique golf course is one of the oldest and most authentic in Cadiz. 54 Almerimar is considered one of the best golf courses in Spain. It is a Japanese owned complex which forms part of a resort development that boasts its own marina, hotel, apartments and other sporting facilities. Aiming to transform it into one of the most spectacular tourist resorts in Europe the owners are well on their way to fulfilling this pledge. From the drawing board of Gary Player the course offers wide fairways and large fast greens protected by a profusion of trees and plants that offer welcome shade in the hotter months. Well positioned sand traps and water feature at five holes, whilst one of the most challenging holes is the short 12th where the green is marooned in the centre of a lake giving a teeshort over 100 metres of water. Fourteen kilometres from Roquetas de Mar, Almerimar is an oasis between sea and mountains.
