Club de Golf Playa Serena Aguilon Opened in 2008, Aguilon Golf is a new golf course in the area of Pulpi. This is another project by Aymerich Golf Club. It is a course with a spectacular design and out of the ordinary with more than 100 bunkers, 6 large lakes and a large number of natural ravines that together make playing in this course an unforgettable experience. The integration into the local topography and Sierra Aguilón mountains towering over you makes a game here quite breathtaking. Not least, eye catching views of the Bay of Pulpí make a perfect setting for this beautiful golf course. The challenging holes with a unique design makes Aguilon Golf the newcomer among the most interesting courses of Spain. Cortijo Grande Club de Golf Cortijo Grande is located just four kilometres from the sea, between Turre and Mojacar on the Costa de Almería. The layout is a Paul Jay Polansky design and opened in 1976. It is a flat course winding through groves of orange and lemon trees, a constant reminder, if one is needed, of the southern Mediterranean climate. The club does not have a clubhouse but the adjacent Almazara bar and restaurant is an ideal place to unwind and contemplate the next round of golf. 64 Club de Golf Playa Serena Opened in 1979 and running parallel to the Mediterranean Playa Serena is mainly flat with small sloping greens, most of which are protected by bunkers and water. A a dominant feature of this par 72 layout is the wind which effects around twelve holes. Winds from the east and west together with the length of the course and the unforgiving rough make the Angel Gallardo and Peter Allis design a considerable challenge. Many players find their problems begin at the 7th, a long hole with out-of-bounds close by on the right and water on the left demanding both power and accuracy off the tees. In response to the growing demand for golf in this rapidly developing area, which boasts projects for an additional seven or eight courses to open by the end of the century, Playa Serena plans to build a further nine holes. The course is located five kilometres from Roquetas de Mar. Playa Macenas This new course at Playa Macenas Beach & Golf Resort was opened for play in 2008 as part of a resort development by Med Group. It is like a huge verdant garden and provides a great challenge for all levels of golfers. Located close to the quiet spanish village of Mojacar, it neighbours Marina Golf Mojacar course. This course is unique in many ways, boasting large man-made water hazards to challenge the golfer. Playa Macenas provides stunning views of the sea and many indigenous species of vegetation
