Empordá Links Empordá (Links Course) The Emporda Golf Resort, which is located in the most beautiful part of the Costa Brava, enjoys a privileged location just one and a half hours from Barcelona, thirty minutes from Girona and its airport, and fifteen minutes from the best beaches on the Costa Brava. Emporda boasts fantastic facilities with 36-holes of golf, a hotel, a spa and a golf school. Emporda Golf Club is actually a combination of four 9-hole courses, which have been cleverly constructed in such a way that they provide two distinct 18 forms of layout. The first 18 holes are of a links type with lakes that act like a magnet to any wayward shots. The natural contours and dunes provide many interesting lies, which can play havoc when the wind is blowing. The greens are large in size, but well guarded by extensive bunkers that surround the greens. This course also demands accuracy off the tee, and there’s no shortage of fairway bunkers. Immaculately maintained, it is the only course in Spain sown with ‘Pencross Grass’ and relies on the topography and natural lie of the land to give it pleasing and elegant features, which in turn provide a challenge for golfers of all levels.The Girona Golf course has a beautiful clubhouse built of natural stone, which makes it blend in perfectly with its surroundings. 118 Empordá (Forest Course) Robert von Hagge, the world renowed articect of over 250 courses, including Doral in Miami, made his stamp at Empordà Golf. At this resort, he has managed to improve an already stellar setting by creating a technically perfect course that allows for a wide variety of swings and techniques. Emporda Golf Club is actually a combination of four, nine hole courses, which have been combined to form two distinct 18 holes. Emporda Forest Course is immersed in Mediterranean pine typical of the area and the third nine are again protected by them, ideal protection for those days when the Tramontana decides to blow. Considered one of the best courses in Catalonia, Emporda Golf is also one of the PGA European Tour Qualifying Schools. Serres de Pals Golf Club Serres de Pals Golf Club is a championship golf course founded in the year 2000 and designed by Ramón Espinosa. It is set in rambling agricultural land and boasts beautiful views over the Emporda region of the Costa Brava. Along with Playa de Pals golf club and Emporda Golf Club, Serres de Pals Golf Club forms the Golden Triangle of golf courses in the area. The course is composed of three distinct areas with smooth hilltops, pine tree forests and fairways between lakes, giving a challenge to golfers of all levels.
