Destination Golf Media is delighted to be the official media sponsor to the World Golf Awards for its third year running .

The Awards serves to celebrate , recognise and reward excellence in golf tourism , world class courses and golf destinations .

Golf tourism constitutes a vital segment in the global travel and tourism marketplace with figures on the rise year on year with an estimated 60 million golfer visits will take place in 2016 to the 32,000 golf courses and resorts worldwide .
The voting for the 2016 awards , began last March for a little over six months , with the Ceremony itself
returning to Portugal in November to the amazing Conrad Algarve for the Gala Ceremony as well as a full programme of golf and networking events taking place over the weekend .
Votes are made by professionals working within the golf travel and tourism industry – senior executives , travel buyers , tour operators , agents and media professionals . Votes may also be cast by the public ( golf tourism consumers ).
Market leaders from around the world come to celebrate and award excellence in Golf over this weekend . The prestigious accolades are awarded throughout the Gala Ceremony and presented by Steve Rider and Ela Clark , with some show stopping performances to set the tone to a great evening . A personal highlight for our team was getting to meet Peter Alliss who was also there to pick up the Award , on behalf of St Andrew ’ s for both Europe ’ s Best Course AND The World Best Course .
