After 7 years of absence , the Open de Portugal returns in 2017 to the calendar of the European Tour , the first division of European professional golf and to the Challenge Tour . The historic tournament will be played at Morgado Golf Resort , in Portimão , between 11 and 14 May , with the organisation of the NAU Hotels & Resorts , the Portuguese Golf Federation ( FPG ) and the Association of Golf Professionals of Portugal ( PGA Portugal ), in partnership with the European Tour and Challenge Tour .
Evian Resort Golf Club , host of LPGA major The Evian Championship , will host the 22nd playing of the Arnold Palmer Cup in 2018 . The first Arnold Palmer Cup to be held under the expanded format to include men ’ s and women ’ s USA collegiate golfers against the counterparts from around the world will also be the first to be held on continental Europe . The annual Ryder Cup-style competition will be played in July 2017 .

Taking place a week before the BMW PGA Championship , the tournament is set to feature the top-ranked players in Europe as they put the finishing touches to their preparations for the European Tour ’ s flagship event under sunny skies on the largest island in the Mediterranean .
Club de Golf Alcanada is big news after joining Pebble Beach and the Old Course at St Andrews on CNN ’ s ‘ bucket list ’ of golf courses . Alcanada - the only course in Mallorca adjacent to the sea - has picked up a succession of awards since the Robert Trent Jones Jnr course opened in 2003 .
But this latest recognition underlines its global appeal as it was selected alongside some of the most famous venues in the world by the giant American media outlet for their Definitive Golf Course Bucket List .
