NORTH
The only golf course in the north is the newest addition to
the Mauritius golf scene.
Mont Choisy Le Golf (www.montchoisy.com/en/golf-course) is
another Peter Matkovich design that opened in November 2017. It is
located between the popular seaside resorts of Grand Baie and Trou aux
Biches and close to a number of hotels.
Occupying land that was also formerly a sugar cane plantation, Mont
Choisy’s flat and wide fairways feature black volcanic sand waste areas

lining holes and volcanic rock outcrops punctuating some fairways. The
clubhouse offers a restaurant and bar beneath its conical thatched roof
where you can enjoy a Kitsoz, a grapefruit cocktail made from fruit grown
on the estate’s orchards.
