Construction Expo
The Kent Event Centre welcomes
Construction Expo back on Thursday
October 6th 2016. Run by the Kent Invicta
Chamber of Commerce it brings together
construction professionals from across the
South East and beyond, combining a free
to attend exhibition, conference and large
demonstration areas.
2015 saw over 3,000 people attend along
with some of the UK’s largest contractors
and with plans for more than 200
exhibitors alone this year, the Expo is set to
be bigger and better in 2016.
Construction Expo 2016 will again have a
full conference programme that combines
keynote speakers tackling critical sector
issues in practical and manageable
ways along with interactive workshops
offering businesses of all sizes actionable
take-aways to implement and grow their
business.
Meet the buyer
As one of the few completely free Meet
the Buyer opportunities in the UK, this year
will see over 600 appointments available
with 30 top purchasers and decision
makers. This is the perfect opportunity
to get your business in front of some of
the leading contractors, suppliers and
public sector departments. Companies
that have signed up so far include Amey,
Baxall, Bouygues, Galliford Try, Balfour
Beatty, Kent County Council, Kier, Willmott
Dixon, WW Martin, Walker Construction
and Skanska. Appointments will be offered
initially to exhibitors and then opened to
all delegates on a first come first served
basis.
Leading business speakers
The Construction Expo will offer a
balance of high level industry speakers
tackling current issues affecting the
construction sector along with updates
from senior figures of some the South
East’s largest projects. David Testa, CEO,
London Paramount who will be offering
an update on the multi-million pound
entertainment resort in North Kent along
with Paul Spooner, Chief Executive,
Ebbsfleet Development Corporation who
will be updating on Ebbsfleet Garden City.
Richard Hicks, Director of Regeneration
at Medway Council will be looking at
current regeneration opportunities and
what’s planned for the future and ScottJames Eley, Supply Chain Manager at HS2
Ltd will be discussing the commercial
opportunities that the HS2 project might
bring to Kent.
Alongside these major regional projects
and opportunities will be senior Director’s
from leading national construction
businesses such as Kier Group Plc, Balfour
Beatty and Golden Houses Developments
Ltd. Inspirational, contemporary architect,
Richard Hawkes, who featured in Channel
4’s Grand Designs becoming one of Kevin
McCloud’s favourite projects, will be
discussing the house he designed and
built - the Grand Designs Eco Arch – the
House with no Bills.

solutions
Learn why supply chain should be

and let Leonardo Wood, founder of LGX
Ltd, show you how to multiply your
customers and sales using the 3 step
iMarketing process. Cristina Lanz-Azcarate,
Director in her own studio Atelier EURA
and a Chartered Member of RIBA will
be challenging perceptions, discussing
how the industry should be supporting
diversity. Kent County Council and Kent
Invicta Chamber will be launching an
exciting new EU funded project designed
to help businesses innovate and trade

overseas and Kier will be joined by Scape
Framework to share their knowledge of
the framework and how it could benefit
your business.
Business breakfast and dinner
There will also be a business breakfast with
2 guest speakers, Kevin Bryne, founder
of Checkatrade.com, who will be looking
at why people are more important than
business and Jim MClelland who will be
looking at the future of construction, the
global megatrends and cultural behaviours
that are driving change. The Construction
Expo business dinner will feature Gyles
Brandeth, Former MP, TV presenter and
raconteur.
