Slim Impact
Modern Traditional
Other advances in gas fires can be
demonstrated by innovative installation
options such as Gazco’s Slimline Zero
Clearance installation kit. Available for
the Studio Slimline 1 and 2 models, the
Zero Clearance kit provides a quicker
and easier installation, allowing the
Slimline models to be fitted directly
into a cavity wall without the need to
specially construct a non-combustible
surround.
Blending modern and traditional styles is
a great way to create an eclectic interior drawing on different elements to achieve
a unique atmosphere and individual look.
The raw texture and irregular edges of
the Ledgestone-effect draw the eye to
the space occupied by the stonework and
in towards the centre of the fire, whilst
the black glass frame adds contrasting
sophistication.
For timeless style, gas fires such as
the Gazco Riva2 530 and 670 can be
combined with the handsome cast iron
Ellingham surround. Offering the elegant
aesthetic of a traditional mantle, the
Ellingham makes a striking impact when
paired with a Black Reeded lining which
creates a deeply contrasting backdrop to
the rolling flames.
Thanks to advances made in flame
technology, as well as manufacturing
realistic fuel beds that mimic logs, new
designs across both contemporary and
tradition styles mean that whatever your
tastes, you will be amazed at the range of
gas fires available.
However, if you’re looking for a
minimum effort installation option with
maximum impact, the Slimline Monaco
surround - available for the Studio 1
Slimline - can be installed directly
against a flat external wall, without the
need for any building work. The clever
design neatly incorporates the entire
depth of the firebox, resulting in an easy
fitting.
The Monaco can also be installed
centrally or offset to either the right or
left within the surround, as well as being
combined with the optional extension
units. The geometric lines of the unit
create a striking, modern look, which
can be left in the stylish concrete grey
textured finish, or personalised with
water based paints.
Many gas fires are available with natural
looking linings such as brick or stone
effect, which can bring a traditional twist
to even the most modern fire. When
paired with the sharp contemporary
finish of a frameless, ‘built-in’ fire,
such a contrast fits perfectly within the
growing trend of mixing materials to
bring varied textures and vintage appeal
to any living space.
When coupled with a sleek black glass
frame like the Icon XS, fires such as
the Gazco Eclipse, with its natural
Ledgestone-effect lining, provide an
intriguing distinction between the
contemporary and the traditional
