Schöck Offers Better Alternative To
Wrapped Parapets
Inta Goes HIPER For Heat Interface Units
The conventional method of insulating parapets is to
wrap the perimeter of the wall with an insulation barrier.
This is costly and has associated long term risks.
The new Schöck Isokorb type AXT offers a cost-effective
and more thermally efficient alternative – with no
wrapping required. Its 120mm insulation thickness results in low psi-values, significantly reducing heat loss. It
allows greater freedom of design and there is no risk of
any additional thermal bridging through balustrade
fixings. The Schöck Isokorb type AXT solution does not
require maintenance and there is no risk of expensive
restoration due to waterproofing problems.
Inta has introduced its ‘HIPER’ high performance heat
interface unit (HIU), designed to deliver heating and hot
water whilst improving energy efficiency and minimising
costs in multi-dwelling developments.
Installed in shared residential buildings, the HIU
distributes heating and domestic hot water from a central
plant system to individual properties. By removing the
need for each area to have a conventional boiler, gas flue
and hot water cylinder, the interface units dramatically
reduce build costs for developers.

features and benefits than any other HIU on the market.

In the first of a number of innovations for the product, Smith’s has designed a new Space
Saver hydronic plinth heater to fit much narrower plinths found in kitchen designs
popular from Scandinavia and Germany. Like its taller counterparts, installing the Space
Saver SS80 frees up wall space for extra wall surfaces and more storage or desirable
kitchen appliances, instead of home owners having to make do with a panel radiator.
The Space Saver is a key appliance for the New Build and RSL markets, as well as
for the mainstream consumer. It offers efficient, controllable warmth to kitchens where
space is at a premium. Installers can use it to replace a radiator and because it will work
off any wet central heating system, it’s a simple replacement that gives so much more
to the end user.
British made, the 7000 series Moisture Meters are compact hand held
instruments designed for building professionals and tradesmen.
Both units incorporate an easy to read LED display. Five different colour
coded measurement scales are included – wood 1, wood 2, plaster,
concrete and a reference scale, measuring moisture over the range 0.1 to
40.0%.
Two specific models are available, the 7000 with a remote probe, and the
7250 with an integral probe. Readings are instant, precise and specific
to the contact area of the two pins.
Optional extras include, colour-coded protective silicone boot– making
the instrument waterproof to IP64 and preventing against accidental
damage on site, a deep wall probe and a heavy duty hammer probe.
Each moisture meter is supplied in a protective zip wallet, and is
