why
Employer Branding matters
to Human Resources
by Joanne Bondin
I have always found it interesting to look back and see how the outlook of people towards jobs
and the job seeking process has changed over the years.
The attitude of people seeking employment in the 1940’s was to find a job that would provide
them with a standard of living that was ideally better than that of their parents. Then following
the economic boom which generated an increase in available opportunities employees started
not just seeking a job to earn a living but were also looking for meaning in their job. They wanted
to contribute to society and sought to be motivated in their job. This led them to be more selec-
tive on the job they chose to do.
