Ryan High School’s Bass Fishing Team recently finished second out of 140 teams at the
Texas High School Bass Association Tournament at Possum Kingdom Lake. The winning
team was Steven Scholfield, Landon O’Dell and Boat Captain Zach Parker. The team is
sponsored by Danny Walton.

Exceptional Student of the Month award on Sept. 10 from club president Jack Thomson
(left) and member Mike Pope (center) as her teacher, Jackie Barfield (right), joins her for
the honor. The Denton Rotary Club’s Exceptional Student of the Month award is given to
the Denton ISD special education student who exhibits exceptional qualities that make
him or her a shining example for fellow students.
