There aren’t many real shortcomings to Dorsal devices except the fact that they have a rather limited protrusive range of motion, typically around 6mm. So, what do you do when your patient’s Dorsal reach- es the maximum protrusion, but you need more advance- ment? You could send it back to the lab for adjustments. That takes time, you may in- cur the expense, but most importantly, your patient will be without their Dorsal.
