DELTA SAFETY STEERING TEAM The Delta Safety Steering Team recently met in Paragould, AR. After the meeting, the team toured the Paragould Complex, consisting of the Construction Office, Shop, Lab, and Hot Mix Asphalt Plant. Perspectives WHAT MOTIVATES YOU TO BE SAFE? Delta Steering Team member, Megan Pingkian, recently asked employees, “What motivates you to be safe?” The responses received were insightful and heartwarming. Below John Whitaker shares his inspiration for working and living safely. John is the Assistant Shop Manager. He previously was a mechanic at the Cape Shop and an Equipment Operator for SEMO Stone. What are your main reasons for being safe? I’m afraid of failing my family. What are your special tips for being safe at home or work? Teamwork & Constructive Criticism Thank you John for being brave and sharing!  APEX PAVING APEX paving won two awards at the Associated General Contractors of Missouri Convention. The first award was the “Safety Excellence Award” for recording zero lost work days in 2015. The second award was the “AGC of Missouri Work Hours Category Safety Award.” Selection was based on Apex Paving’s 2015 safety performance of total recordable injuries and lost workday cases, in comparison to other companies with total work hours between 0 to 50,000.
