PARAGOULD SHOP EARNS
BRONZE 6S SHOP CERTIFICATION
On Monday, March 30, 2015,
Colas Inc. Jon Hager (Plants
and Equipment for Colas Inc)
performed the final inspection
at the Paragould Shop. As
a result of the inspection,
the Paragould Shop was
awarded the Colas 6S Shop
Certification – Bronze Level.
The Paragould Shop has now become one
of nine shops (of the fifty-two shops throughout
Colas Inc.) that have earned this recognition.
Tony Shafer (Shop Manager) and his team have
worked diligently toward the 6S of Safety, Sort,
Straighten, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain.
The Paragould Shop Team members are: David
Bright, Donnie Cunningham, Mark Howell, and
Tony Shafer. The team implemented the following
initiatives which they titled “Our Plan of Attack”:
• Obsolete parts (Sort)
• Overstock/Left over parts (Sort)
• Prioritize Inventory (Sort)
• Maximize space available (Straighten)
• Clean and Repair facility (Sweep/Shine)
• Process flow of work (Sustain)
• Establish Safety/environmental
standards (Safety)
• Develop a Safety Culture Safety/
environmental stewardship (Safety)
