In support and recognition of this Core Value, Chairman and CEO of Colas, Mr. Hervé LE BOUC, proclaimed the week of June 16th – 20th as the annual Colas Global Safety Awareness week. Activities were planned and held in each region during the week in order to bring special attention to the importance of safety. It was a fun week for both the Senior Management Staff and all employees as time was set aside to share a good meal, visit with great people, and enjoy conversation about safety and ways to prevent accidents. A special emphasis was placed on work zone safety and the theme “Who takes care of you and who depends of you”. The week culminated Friday at the Corporate Office where the first Delta Companies, Inc. Safety Bake-Off competition was held. Employees were invited to prepare a “homemade” desert that had to have a message or slogan promoting safety and recognizing Colas Safety Awareness week. A special lunch to recognize the week was prepared by Safety Manager Jerry Neels. After lunch, a vote was held to determine the winners of the Bake-Off competition. It was a fun activity to bring special attention to the importance of safety and challenges were issued for next year’s competition. The winners were as follows: Best looking desert: Kari Wagner Most creative: Donna Bell Best tasting: Alice McRoberts Best Safety Message: Donna Bell Thank you to all employees for your participation and commitment to safety.
