JAC sorors showed up in record numbers on July 21, at Cinemark
Tinsletown Theater to see the movie “Girls Trip.” The movie portrays
four lifelong girlfriends who travel to New Orleans for the annual
Essence Festival. “The Flossy Posse,” (as the four were known)
entertains with their outrageous moments that go where others
have declined to go. The movie kept you laughing from start to
finish. The beauty of the movie was the portrayal of love,
honesty, and the devotion of the four friends to one another.
Many sorors reflected on the similarities of the Sorority’s
sisterhood to that of the movie, that there is a sisterly bond
that’s not easily broken. The perfect movie to watch your
sorors who all share a similar bond with their sorority
sisters!

The Beaches Fine Arts Series hosted “Dancing with the Stars,” a fundraising
event to raise money to offer free programs to support students who has
limited exposure to the arts and to provide free seasonal performances to the
community.
JAC’s very own Madeline Scales-Taylor wanted to do more, therefore she
signed on as one of the star dancers to help raise funds.
Soror Madeline solicited the support of her Sorors, family and friends for
donations that counted as votes to decide who would reign as the First
Coast Favorite Dance. After weeks of working tirelessly to perfect her
8
routine, it paid off. Soror Madeline was crowned as 1st Runner Up!
Congratulations, Soror Madeline!
