Wilder Lynn Williams ACTING EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Anne Harper ACTING DEPUTY EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Joanne McGeoch Letter from our Executive Directors Friends, The summer months yielded many happy campers, over 1,200 children dove deep into nature at our nature centers, farm, and preserves! With an emphasis on fun, camp children enjoyed adventures outdoors, keeping their minds sharp and hearts engaged in nature-based learning that is proven to make a lasting impact in how they care for the environment as adults. The autumn season can offer some of the best opportunities to plan your next adventure outdoors. This issue of the Nature Explorer provides endless opportunities to hike, kayak, bike, ski, run, and explore nature with experts in their field. From gardeners, to birders, to tree huggers, to foodies, there is something, assuredly for everyone to do, see, taste, and experience with us this fall. Delaware Nature Society is so much more that the programs we provide – we hope you see us as champions for stewarding and protecting the things that matter most to us: clean water, healthy food, protection of wildlife and their natural habitats. You can read more about these important themes in our featured articles, Our Work in Watersheds: Protecting the Source ; Gardening for Water & Wildlife ; and Locavores Love Our Marketplace . Our work in advocating for the protection of the environment is one of the ways your support helps advance our work in the community. Thank you for being a participant in our work, and an important part of our engagement with the community. We couldn’t achieve our vision to improve the environment without your support.
