This month’s feature is very near and dear to my heart. I
am so excited to announce that To Your Health Bakery is
opening a store front right here in Winston across from
Hobby Lobby on Hanes Mall Blvd. I was lucky enough to
meet up with Anna and her mom before they open the
doors on December 1 st !
Anna has been baking since
she was 8 years old. Officially
she stared To Your Health
Bakery in her home 2 years
ago. It all began because her
little brother was born with a
lot of allergies. Anna taught
herself how to bake gluten
free/vegan style long before there were cookbooks
available. Anna learned through trial and error using
almost everything available on the market and now has
perfected this type of healthy baking into a true art!
Here is what Anna had to say, “Here at our bakery we focus
on using superior products, we bring in Bob’s Red Mill
flours from Oregon, Lindley Mills flours from right here in
Graham, well as local organic produce from farmers
markets and local free range eggs. We take a holistic
approach to baking. We believe in the old saying, Let food
be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”

modate vegan, paleo, nut
free as well as working
with folks that have
many other
allergies...
Words cannot describe the
amount of knowledge I have
gained from cooking and
baking for a child who is
allergic to dairy, eggs, wheat,
meat, corn, soy, nuts, yeast,
and half of all fruits and
vegetables. We also bake
traditional treats. Our promise to you is no additives, no
fillers, no GMO’s or corn syrup.”

Anna told me she never began baking this way with
intentions to open a bakery but this has quickly become
her passion. She could not have done it without the love
and support of her parents who are her heart and soul!
To Your Health Bakery will open December 1 st offering
gluten free, vegan, paleo, nut free and traditional treats
such as cakes by the slice, cinnamon buns, spinach pies
and smoothies just to name a few. They will also stock
Chad’s chai and herbal teas.
Eventually they will offer educational classes, baking
and decorating classes as well as birthday parties.
Personally, I am very excited for the opening! Winston
Salem has needed a bakery like this for many years!
