Green Bean Shiraae
The nutty flavour of sesame seeds complements crisp beans
INGREDIENTS : 1 cup medium firm tofu 2 Tbsp white miso 2 Tbsp mirin 2 Tbsp sugar 2 Tbsp soy sauce 2 Tbsp sake 1 tsp sesame oil 3 Tbsp roasted white sesame seeds 2 cups green beans 2 litres water 1 Tbsp salt
METHOD : 1 . Crumble tofu into small pieces . 2 . Combine tofu , white miso , mirin , sugar , soy sauce , sake , sesame oil and sesame seeds into bowl . Mix well and set aside . 2 . Boil water , adding salt . Add green beans and cook for 2 minutes . 3 . Drain and add into mixture . 4 . Toss beans into mixture , and serve .
