Schneider Electric’s StruxureWare Data
Centre Operation v8.1 Provides New Levels Of
Efficiency And Control
Schneider Electric has introduced
StruxureWare Data Centre Operation
(DCO) v8.1, an enhancement to
StruxureWare for Data Centres, Data
Centre Infrastructure Management
(DCIM) suite. DCO v8.1 includes
new features that allow data centre
operators to design, manage and
execute workflow tasks more
efficiently and gain greater control
over the data centre environment.
New capabilities in v8.1 include:
• W
orkflow template creation that simplifies workflow management while providing
more control of tracking, moves, adds, and changes across a data centre’s assets to
improve system performance.
• I ntegration of third party IT services, providing an open communication architecture
enabling the sharing of relevant information across systems from multiple vendors to
give a complete view of data centre performance and availability to boost reliability
and efficiency.
• Adaptive user interface enabling system access via any desktop, tablet or smartphone
device to manage everyday tasks, such as tracking status updates, managing project
timelines, and setting task owners to further simply data centre management.
StruxureWare for Data Centres management software suite provides complete
visibility from the building level down to the servers. Data centre managers can reduce
energy consumption, increase system uptime and improve planning and operational
performance throughout the lifecycle of the data centre. StruxureWare Data Centre
Operation v8.1 is currently available through Schneider Electric and its partners.

Commvault Partners with Pure Storage
Commvault has announced the integration of its Commvault Data Platform and IntelliSnap
technology for FlashStack, a flexible, converged infrastructure solution offered jointly by
Cisco and Pure Storage, combining the latest in computer, network, and storage hardware
into a single, integrated architecture.
By providing the data protection layer for FlashStack with IntelliSnap integration,
Commvault is working with Pure Storage and Cisco to address the ongoing shift from the
traditional silo approach of separate servers, storage, and networking equipment to a pre-
designed, pre-engineered, tested and optimised solution that provides organisations with a
high performance, scalable infrastructure for deploying mission critical workloads.
Commvault’s IntelliSnap integration with FlashStack is an ideal replacement over
traditional data management and protection tools that are unable to scale and support
critical enterprise applications and databases like Oracle, VMware SAP, and Microsoft SQL
and Exchange, whether physical or virtual.

SEAGATE PUSHES
PERFORMANCE
AND COST
BOUNDARIES WITH
NEW ALL-FLASH
AND HYBRID
STORAGE ARRAYS
Seagate has introduced two new
additions to its RealStor line-up
with the RealStor 5 series of all-
flash storage and hybrid arrays,
giving businesses the kind of high
performance storage that has
previously only been accessible
to larger data centres.
The RealStor 5005 is an all-
flash array, ideal for demanding
data environments where speed
and latency are critical. The
system can achieve 400,000
IOPS at 1 millisecond latency. For
environments where latency is
paramount, the RealStor 5005
can go even further, reaching
latencies sub 300 microseconds
for 300,000 IOPS – far faster
than the one millisecond classic
industry benchmark for all-flash
array response time.
The RealStor 4005 is for
organisations not needing the
full horsepower offered by the
RealStor 5005. It is available
