Rackspace Delivers Managed Services for Google Cloud Platform

Rackspace has announced a strategic relationship with Google Cloud to become its first managed services support partner for Google Cloud Platform ( GCP ). Google Cloud and Rackspace are collaborating on a new managed services offering for Google Cloud Platform customers that will launch later this year .
The managed support services will offer GCP customers added cloud architecture support , onboarding , data migration expertise , as well as ongoing operational support for customers , to help ensure optimal cloud application performance .
As multi-cloud adoption increases , more businesses are moving to Google Cloud Platform to run critical workloads . According to 451 Research , the adoption of Google Cloud has nearly doubled over the past year .
‘ The partnership between Rackspace and Google is a natural fit ’, said Michelle Bailey , chief research officer , 451 Research . ‘ Both companies have strong technical capabilities and the pairing of Rackspace ’ s strong service culture with Google ’ s Customer Reliability Engineering ( CRE ) practice is an important step forward in providing enterprise-ready customer support capabilities on the Google Cloud Platform ( GCP ).’

MainOne launches Data Centre Project in Sagamu , Ogun State

MainOne has pledged its commitment to boost Information and Communications Technology ( ICT ) in Ogun State with a data centre project in Sagamu , Nigeria . During a recent courtesy visit of the company ’ s board and management to the executive governor of Ogun State , senator Ibikunle Amosun and his cabinet , the company ’ s chairman , Fola Adeola , disclosed MainOne ’ s plans to make investments that will boost ICT development in the State .
Affirming the company ’ s commitment to the digital transformation of Nigeria , Adeola highlighted the untapped investment opportunities in the country , noting that ICT infrastructure investments will support rapid technology proliferation in the State .
In his comments , the Governor highlighted the investor friendly posture of his administration , and its focus to ‘ Rebuild the Gateway State ’, which is already attracting a significant portion of new FDI investments into Nigeria to the state .
MainOne hopes to start building its data centre in Sagamu , Ogun State later this year . The facility , which is based in the Flowergate Industrial Park , is designed to provide services to the burgeoning base of industry in Ogun State and serve as a back up for businesses in Lagos who will enjoy easy access through the Lagos-Ibadan expressway once repairs are complete .

Pulsant wins cloud and managed hosting contract to host SAP infrastructure for Innovia Films

Pulsant has been selected by Innovia Films to supply a dedicated hosting platform for its SAP infrastructure . Innovia Films is a global manufacturer of biaxially oriented polypropylene ( BOPP ) films used in the packaging , labelling and securities markets . Innovia took the decision to move its entire SAP infrastructure - supporting logistics , CRM and warehousing - to a hosting provider following its adoption of the SAP HANA platform . Pulsant was awarded the tender following a competitive process in which the hybrid cloud solutions provider demonstrated the responsiveness and flexibility in the solution that Innovia Films required .
Pulsant is working with Edenhouse Solutions , a long term customer and Innovia ’ s SAP implementation specialist , to develop and implement the hosting solution , which includes Pulsant Enterprise Cloud , disaster recovery services and managed hosting . The solution is dual site , hosted out of Pulsant ’ s Milton Keynes and Reading data centres , two in the company ’ s interconnected network of 15 sites .
The project is already underway with one of the platforms installed and running . The rest of the infrastructure will be deployed and completed in the second quarter of 2017 .
