Pátria Investimentos creates data centre startup to operate in Latin America
The infrastructure area of Pátria Investimentos has announced the creation of OData , a data centre startup focused on wholesale colocation , offering space and energy for clients with large computational demands . OData will operate in Brazil and the rest of Latin America . Construction of its first site – Data Center SP-01 – began in May 2016 , in Santana de Parnaíba ( São Paulo state ), Odata bought the land , a plot with 5.6 acres , in the metropolitan region of São Paulo , and meets all requirements in terms of energy , availability , security and access to fibre .
The building will have capacity to hold thousands of servers , providing solutions at the IT infrastructure layer : leased space will have various layers of redundancy for uninterrupted sources of power and cooling and it will be built in modular configuration , tailored to the clients ´ needs . Quark , a Spanish engineering company with extensive experience in data centre design and expertise in energy efficiency , is responsible for the project , which will cover a built-on area of approximately 13,500m 2 with approximately 5,300m 2 of raised floor .
LIGHTOWER FIBER NETWORKS EXPANDS INTO NYI DATA CENTRE
