Cisco launches first UCS S-Series as it expands its data centre portfolio
Cisco has launched the UCS S-Series , a new storage optimised server category in the Cisco USC portfolio , as well announcing the next generation of its One Enterprise Cloud Suite .
The UCS S-Series is designed to address the needs of data intensive workloads such as Big Data , and deploys software defined storage , object storage and data protection solutions . It has been built to handle the rapid growth of unstructured data created by the Internet of Things , video , mobility , collaboration and analytics .
The USC S3260 Storage server , the first in the UCS series , is a fully modular architecture . Consuming up to 59 per cent less power , the UCS S3260 reduces capex by up to 34 per cent as well as lowering ongoing management by up to 80 per cent .
Cisco ’ s One Enterprise Cloud Suite is a hybrid cloud software solution that offers freedom of choice for application teams and delivers a self-service portal that can be tailored for end users , application developers and IT professionals and can be deployed to over 20 different data centres . STULZ TAKES THE HEAT OFF WITH ITS NEW EXPLORER WSW WATER COOLED CHILLER
Stulz has announced the launch of its Stulz Explorer WSW water cooled chiller , designed for use in a diverse range of mission critical indoor applications .
Flexibility has been designed into every aspect of the Stulz Explorer WSW and it has big cooling power in an incredibly small footprint .
Depending on the required cooling capacity , the Explorer WSW chillers can be equipped with either one compressor offering a cooling capacity of 230-430kW , or two compressors that provide 460-1,530kW .
It can also be easily adjusted to different heat loads thanks to its two refrigerant circuits with semi-hermetic screw compressors and infinitely variable output sliders .
Additionally , the Explorer WSW features standardised components that can be set to operate at different temperature levels .
For noise critical applications , a version is available that has extra acoustic insulation that meets the sound power level requirements of ISO3744 and reduces them by a further 10dB .
Even in partial load mode the product is highly efficient and depending on the service conditions , can offer European Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio ( ESEER ) values of five or higher .
