Cavium introduces 10 / 25 GbE adaptor family for open compute project servers
Cavium has unveiled QLogic FastLinQ adaptors for Open Compute Project ( OCP ) servers , along with an extensive suite of management software . The new line of adaptors allows Cavium to extend its reach to the growing number of OCP servers being deployed at hyperscale and cloud service providers .
Designed to accelerate network virtualisation workloads , the FastLinQ QL34512 adaptor delivers intelligent offloads for NVGRE , VxLAN and GENEVE tunnelling protocols , providing an innovative solution delivering flexibility and cost savings for next generation enterprise , hyperscale CSP , Tier 2 / 3 CSP , and telco data centres . The 10Gb version QL34152HOCU is available today and the 25Gb version scheduled for release in early 2017 .
The FastLinQ OCP Ethernet adaptor boosts network performance with full line-rate throughout across both ports , optimises infrastructure costs and increases virtual machine density .

Equinix is offering direct and private access to VMware vCloud Air on Platform Equinix in major markets across North America and Europe .
Access is available either via Equinix Cloud Exchange , the company ’ s cloud interconnection platform , or via Direct Connect , depending on location . These dedicated , private connections reduce network costs and provide higher and more consistent network performance than Internet based connections for enterprise customers looking to build out their VMware based hybrid clouds .
