NEW FRANKFURT BUILD PLANNED AS COLT DATA CENTRE SERVICES LEADS THE EXPANSION OF EUROPE ’ S DATA CAPACITY

Colt Data Centre Services has announced it is planning to build a brand new flagship data centre to service the German market , having acquired a greenfield site in the city of Frankfurt . The announcement forms part of a major European investment drive by the company , which also sees further expansion of its existing data centres in London and Paris .
The new data centre , which will complement Colt Data Centre Services ’ existing Frankfurt site , will boast 8,000m 2 across 12 data halls with a significant power capacity of 18MW . The carrier neutral site will be the first data centre to be built using the company ’ s new , cutting edge modular design technology in the German market .
The acquisition of the site means that Colt Data will be able to offer large scale capacity and connectivity rich solutions in a known data centre hotspot and allow them to accommodate large enterprises and major cloud providers in a state-of-the-art city centre facility .
